Common questions

The report says nothing was found. Is the room clean? No — and the app says so on purpose. Sweep only sees what is transmitting while you sweep. A device that is off, wired, or on another network is invisible to any phone app. Treat an empty report as "nothing surfaced", not "nothing is there".

Why is there no magnetometer camera detector? Because it does not work. The magnetometer in a phone detects metal — a screw, a hinge, a nail — not a lens. Apps that present it as a camera detector are selling a false sense of safety. Sweep finds cameras the way they are actually findable: as devices on your Wi-Fi network.

Why does it want Bluetooth permission but not location? Bluetooth scanning is how trackers like AirTag, Tile and SmartTag are found. Sweep declares that permission with Android's neverForLocation flag, so the system knows the app must not derive your location from those signals — which means you are not asked for location access on modern Android.

A device is listed as "moved with you". Am I being tracked? Not necessarily. It means that device was heard through most of your sweep and its signal did not fade as you moved. That can also be a phone or headphones belonging to someone walking the same way. The report shows the evidence so you can judge; it does not deliver a verdict.

Bluetooth found nothing at all. If Sweep heard zero broadcasts, it tells you so in red — that almost always means Bluetooth is switched off or scanning permission was denied, not that the room is empty. Turn Bluetooth on and sweep again.

The network scan found nothing. Check that you are connected to Wi-Fi rather than mobile data. On mobile data there is no local network to scan.

I paid but the report is still locked. Open the report and tap "Restore purchase". If it still does not unlock, email us with the Google Play order number and we will sort it out.
