These terms govern your use of the Sweep mobile application, published by Hugo Software. By using Sweep you accept them.
What Sweep is — and what it is not
Sweep is a scanning aid. It reports what it was able to observe during a sweep: Bluetooth devices that broadcast nearby, and devices that share your local Wi-Fi network.
Sweep is not a guarantee, and it does not certify that any space is free of surveillance devices. You must understand the following limits before relying on it:
- A device that is switched off, has no battery, or is not transmitting cannot be detected.
- A camera wired directly to a recorder, or connected to a different network from yours, will not appear in the network scan.
- A Bluetooth device that stays near you may simply belong to a person travelling the same way.
- An empty report is not proof that a room is clean.
Sweep deliberately omits the magnetometer-based "hidden camera detector" found in some competing apps, because a compass detects metal, not lenses.
Do not use Sweep as your only safeguard in a situation where your safety depends on the answer. If you believe you are being tracked or recorded without consent, contact your local authorities.
Lawful use
You agree to use Sweep only on networks and in places where you are entitled to do so — your own home and network, or a space you are lawfully occupying, such as a hotel room or rental you have booked. Scanning networks you have no right to access may be illegal where you live. You are responsible for how you use the app.
Purchases
The scan and the finding counts are free. A single one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase unlocks the detailed report. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
Purchases are processed by Google Play. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy; we cannot process a refund on Google's behalf, but you are welcome to contact us if something went wrong.
No warranty
Sweep is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Radio scanning depends on hardware, operating system restrictions, signal conditions and factors outside our control; results will vary between phones and environments.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hugo Software is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, Sweep — including any loss arising from a device the app failed to detect. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
